Haskup Berry Review

13 06 2013

With 2 of my closest friends, we each too a 3-5 berry handful and dropped or tossed them into our mouths.

Assuming these were properly riepnned (not certain), there was certainly a bit of a bitter taste imparted still.  Sweetness felt like it was just coming to the fore.  I expect to boil these down with sugar and make a lovely sauce or jam.  Not necessary a fresh berry eater (at this point).

So happy this plant is healthy now!

I will update this VERY blog post with further reviews as more people try it and more berries develop.

My in-laws leave theirs until they’re practically falling off the bush – it’s a good week past when you think they should be ripe. Theirs are usually quite tasty! We tend to eat ours as soon as we see them so they’re quite tart, but the kids like them that way. 🙂 Plus, it’s so hard to wait!
